FLYER: 2026 Stroke Seminar
Did you know that May is stroke awareness month? Washington Township Recreation is hosting an important community seminar titled “Stroke Can Happen at Any Age. Are You Prepared?” to raise awareness about stroke prevention and emergency response.
With 80% of strokes being preventable, this event will empower attendees with practical knowledge about major risk factors, effective prevention strategies, and the critical steps to take during a stroke emergency using the FAST method. Participants will also learn about the latest advances in stroke treatment, as well as gain valuable insights into recovery and rehabilitation.
This seminar is being presented by Lorrie Koonz, RN, Stroke manager at Atlantic Health Hackettstown. The program will take place at Washington Twp. Community Center, 35 East Springtown Road, Long Valley, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 12:30pm. It is designed to equip individuals and families with life‑saving information and encourage proactive steps toward better brain and cardiovascular health.
